Google's Aluminum OS for laptop-desktop, with Gemini AI support:

Google is making a new operating system (OS) for laptops and desktops, codenamed 'Aluminium'. It is also named after the metal, in line with the current 'ChromeOS'. It is expected that in the future it will be used in Google laptops and desktops instead of ChromeOS. With Android as the base of the new operating system, Aluminum OS will be 'AI first' so that users can make the most of Gemini AI, Google said.

The new operating system has not been officially unveiled yet. Its existence was discovered through a job ad on LinkedIn. The ad was removed after some time. Google has been trying for a long time to create a single operating system for laptops-desktops and tablets-smartphones.

For this purpose, they have also arranged to run Android apps in ChromeOS. However, ChromeOS did not gain popularity. It still lags behind Windows, MacOS, and even Linux in some areas. Google hopes to take a strong position in the computing market with Aluminum OS.

It is not known when the new operating system will hit the market. About a decade ago, Google started working on a new operating system called 'Fuchsia'.

Although supposed to be a universal OS, it ended up being limited to the Nest series of home security devices. Now it's time to see if aluminum also follows that path.
